The only two performances from the 2013 VMA’s Award show that I care about; Lady Gaga with her performance art piece for “Applause” and Kanye West giving a passionate rendition of “Blood On The Leaves”. Kanye’s movement against that backdrop was breathtaking, and Gaga looked like she was having a good time and i love that; Warhol would be proud. Drake was looking and sounding right but it isn’t share worthy; I mean the downplay from Rihanna at 1:36 IS quite spectacular though. I have hope for pop music yet!
I love keeping my nails painted; it just adds an effortless feminine touch to every outfit. And I like looking down at a nice hand doin’ stuff! While at the library last week, I picked up DIY: Nail Artby Catherine Rodgers. It’s

I love this so much that I may look for a copy to buy. Around the same time last week, Shop NCLA released a really great video tutorial on how-to manicure your nails. I’ve included it below. Be sure to new tab on over to Shop NCLA for more tips and to purchase great products like their award-winning nail wrap designs and lush nail polishes.
I banged the hell out of my shin on my hard wood bed frame, and decided to teach myself how to upholsterer the frame. I’ve always loved fabric covered bed frames and figured it couldn’t be too hard, so I set on a search for answers. I came across Daniel Kanter over at Manhattan-Nest.com who did the exact same project; and I followed his lead.
Lucky for me, I have access to Michael Levine’s in downtown Los Angeles, and was able to find my 6 yards of Batting for $18 and a decent navy blue Fleece for $2.50 a pound. Yeah, $7.50; the staple gun that I bought cost twice as much. I wrapped 2 layers of Batting around the rail, and 3 layers around the headboard. I followed with one layer of fabric around the whole frame; stapling as I went.
I feel like it took about 3-4 hours, and while I’m very happy with the results, I will say be careful of the Batting and fabric placement, cause I had a bitch of a time getting the wooden slats back into place, and my mattress almost doesn’t fit back into place. But I love it! It goes great with the DIYcabinet project I did; now I just need some Gray bedding, and throw in some Yellow accents to bring everything together. I keep it swanky no matter the space size or cost. My Bachelorette pad is coming along nicely;-)
I’m giving soul music artist, Omar’s brand new full length release The Man a listen. Love it. The title track is a clever and bright ode to love; the whole album is really, and Caron Wheeler joins him on “Treat You”, so there’s that goodness here too.
Omar’s voice always lends a sophisticated easiness to any scene anyway; so expect to enjoy this album.
Jerry Seinfeld’s second season of “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee” premieres online this week. I really enjoyed the series of about 10 short but well thought out interviews showcasing Seinfeld’s easy nature, love for vintage cars and his entertaining celebrity friends. Find it at Crackle.com.
I follow Baller Alert on Instagram. Well last week they posted about Unmentionably Cheeky, a monthly service that provides you with 3 pairs of unmentionables for $8.00. I don’t think that I even finished the article before I ran and did my own search and put in my order. It arrived today!
I guess the regular price is $11.00, but even still, a steal. So you give your size, and trust that 3 pairs of lacy lady undergarments will arrive. And I guess the styles are switched out every month. I love the pair I received. The Cotton is soft and the design and color are fun but not teeny-bopperish. I might go a size larger the next round just for reference, but I will definitely be a return customer. Tis fun to be a girl!
